I have been depressed all my life, and also suffer from schizotypal personality disorder. Depression and other mental illness, in others as well as in myself, has touched me in many, many ways.
I have borderline personality disorder, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, PTSD, and anorexia nervosa. I am using my voice to speak for those who can't, won't and aren't with us anymore due to societies stigmas.
I love this community initiative!
My friend Louis and I (that's us in the photo) have both suffered with depression and have documented our experiences in the illustrated poem The Black Dawg, which is about depression and hope - we plan to publish it as a picture book for adults to let fellow sufferers know they are not alone. The creative process has been incredibly healing, so has sharing the poem with our friends and their friends.

Father shell shocked after war - grew up in a mental battlefield. Moved away with mother where I was a vulnerable 14 teen to be discreetish. Battled with drugs and booze to distract - in 20's took up yoga to re-shape - but then just as life was getting better mum dad and brother died, became a spendahokic yoga teacher, extreme manic opposites. Now social entrepreneur, speaker and writer helping others get a grip. My depression was suppressed anger. Think this is great well done X www.heybigspender.co.uk is my web
